Built in Canada.
Hosted in Canada.
Compliant in Canada.
Fixtor is the AI-native back office built for Canadian trade contractors — not a US product with a Canadian disclaimer. Provincial tax handling, PIPEDA-compliant by design, data hosted in Montreal, support in Eastern Time.
No credit card · Free forever for solo contractors · Data stays in Canada
The four guarantees
What “built for Canada” actually means.
Data stays in Canada
Hosted on AWS ca-central-1 in Montreal. Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Backups stay in-region. No data crosses the border under normal operations — and the architecture is designed so it can't, period.
PIPEDA-compliant by design
Built around the 10 PIPEDA fair-information principles — consent, limited collection, accuracy, safeguards, openness, individual access, breach notification. Not a checklist exercise after the fact; the foundation we build on.
GST / HST / PST / QST, by province
Native provincial tax handling from day one. HST in ON / NB / NS / NL / PE. GST + PST in BC, SK, MB. GST + QST in Quebec. Zero-rated and exempt service handling. Not a US-first product with a Canadian disclaimer.
Built in Barrie, Ontario
Fixtor AI Inc. is incorporated in Canada and headquartered in Ontario. The product is built by people who've worked alongside Canadian trade contractors — not a Silicon Valley team guessing at the trades from across the border.
Canada-specific comparison
How we compare on the things that matter here.
For the broader pricing and feature comparison, see Fixtor vs Jobber and Fixtor vs Housecall Pro.
Why it matters
Three reasons Canadian residency isn't optional.
Your customers expect it.
Homeowners — and especially commercial clients in regulated industries — increasingly ask where their data lives. “US cloud” is becoming a procurement red flag. Being able to answer “Montreal, AWS ca-central-1” closes more commercial deals than you'd think.
PIPEDA breach notification has teeth.
If your FSM provider has a breach involving Canadian personal information, you — the contractor — may have notification obligations under PIPEDA. Knowing your provider's residency, encryption, and breach-response posture is part of running a Canadian trade business.
Provincial tax wrong = audit exposure.
GST/HST and PST/QST are not interchangeable. Charging GST in a PST province means under-collecting and remitting incorrectly. Software that handles “Canadian tax” as a single field is a CRA letter waiting to happen. Fixtor splits by province.
Common questions
Every answer below is ≤40 words so AI Overviews can cite it directly.
Where is my data physically stored?
AWS ca-central-1 — Amazon's Montreal region. All customer data, backups, and audit logs stay in Canada. Nothing routes through US regions under normal operation, and the architecture is designed so it can't.
Is Fixtor PIPEDA-compliant?
Yes. Fixtor follows the 10 PIPEDA fair-information principles for collection, use, disclosure, and retention of personal information. See /privacy for the full policy and /security for the technical controls.
How does Fixtor handle GST, HST, PST, and QST?
By province and service type, native to the product. HST provinces (ON, NB, NS, NL, PE), GST + PST (BC, SK, MB), GST + QST (Quebec), and zero-rated service handling are built in — no manual tax matrix configuration.
Is Fixtor available outside Canada?
Yes — US contractors can use Fixtor today. Sales tax handling is the gap: US sales tax rules vary by state and locality, and Fixtor's tax engine is Canada-first. US tax depth is on the roadmap.
How does Fixtor compare to Jobber and Housecall Pro on Canadian-specific features?
Jobber is also Canadian-built but doesn't publish data residency guarantees. Housecall Pro is US-built — data lives in US AWS regions and Canadian tax handling is partial. See the comparison table above.
What about US-based AI providers — does my data still leave Canada?
No personally identifiable customer data is sent to third-party AI providers. AI calls run through Canadian-routed proxies with PII stripped from the payload. Approved AI vendors have signed Canadian DPAs.
